Prep transition

This information is for already-enrolled 2018 Preps. Please note it is important that children attend all orientation sessions.

Prep Orientation Program

Proposed dates:

9.15am – 10.45am
Tuesday 14 November
Wednesday 22 November
Tuesday 28 November
Thursday 30 November
Tuesday 5 December

For Children

Children will be given the opportunity to participate in an orientation program that will include the following activities:

• Classroom learning activities
• Specialist activities such as Art, Library, P.E. and Spanish.
• Meeting staff working at the school
• Familiarisation with the school environment including the playground.

These sessions will be taken by the current Prep teachers and Specialist teachers.

For Parents

Whilst children are participating in a classroom program, parents will be provided with important information to support a smooth transition to school.

This will include information about the Before & After School Care program, school uniform, the Prep Information booklet and the Prep program offered at Ascot Vale West Primary School.

Welcoming letter to students

A welcoming letter will be sent to each child in January 2018. The letter will include a photo of the child’s teacher and details for starting school.

Prep 2018 Family BBQ

The Family BBQ provides an opportunity to meet other parents of Prep 2018 children and for children to socialise with their classmates.
