Welcome to Ascot Vale West Primary School

It is my privilege to lead Ascot Vale West Primary School, a proud and inclusive community with a rich history and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. Located in the heart of a diverse and vibrant community, our school celebrates the unique backgrounds, cultures and experiences that each student and family brings.

At AVWPS, we are dedicated to providing a high-quality, evidence-based education that supports every child to thrive. Our teaching and learning programs are grounded in the Victorian Curriculum and informed by best practice, including explicit teaching, strong literacy and numeracy instruction and a commitment to meeting students at their point of need. We strive to ensure all students are challenged, supported and empowered to achieve their personal best.

Our students proudly live our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Inclusion and Curiosity. These values underpin everything we do and are reflected in the way our students learn, interact and contribute to our school community. Through a wide range of academic, wellbeing and extra-curricular opportunities, students are supported to grow socially, emotionally and academically. We place a strong emphasis on student voice and leadership, ensuring our students feel heard, valued and actively engaged in their learning journey.

Our dedicated and passionate staff work collaboratively to build their practice and deliver high-quality instruction. Through ongoing professional learning, coaching and teamwork, we ensure our teaching continues to evolve to meet the needs of every learner.

At Ascot Vale West Primary School, we value strong partnerships with families. We believe that when schools and families work together, students achieve the best outcomes. We warmly welcome parent involvement and work closely with our School Council and Parents and Friends Committee to create a connected and supportive community.
