Introducing our SWPBS Matrix at Ascot Vale West Primary School

At Ascot Vale West Primary School, we work hard to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where every child feels supported and ready to learn. Our school values respect, responsibility, inclusion and curiosity are at the heart of everything we do.

To help bring these values to life, we use School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS). This is a whole school approach that helps children understand what positive behaviour looks like and supports them to make good choices throughout the school day.

Our SWPBS Matrix shows what our school values look like in action in different areas of the school, such as classrooms, playgrounds and shared spaces. It helps answer the question What does respect, responsibility, inclusion and curiosity look like at Ascot Vale West?

Teachers will use the matrix to talk with students about expectations, model positive behaviour and acknowledge when children are making great choices. These expectations are taught just like any other part of learning and are revisited regularly.

By using the same language and expectations across the school, we help children feel confident, safe and supported. We value the partnership between school and home and appreciate families supporting these expectations with their children.

We look forward to continuing to work together to help all students live out our school values every day.

Our school uniform plays an important role in fostering a strong sense of identity, promoting student safety and wellbeing, and encouraging team spirit and high standards of presentation. All students are expected to wear the approved school uniform.

Uniform items can be purchased via SPARTAN’s website or store- www.spartanschoolworld.com.au Our school’s Administration Office can also assist families with making online purchases. Please refer to the attached flyer for further information.
